After around ten years in the unstable life of a coffee picker, traveling from farm to farm and from town to town following the harvests within the country and looking for the coffee farmer that paid the highest price per kilogram picked, Carlos Arturo Cotacio decided to test the “luck” that people said you could find in the city.

 

Five years passed living the city chaos, Carlos Arturo looking for what made him happy, but he wasn’t as lucky as they said. At the age of 36, Carlos he decided to come back to the country-side, far from the chaos, and closer from nature and from what he really loved, coffee. When he came back, his brother was taking over the family business, a coffee farm located in the highlands of Inzá, Cauca that they had inherited from their grandmother.

Since then, Carlos and his brother have been working on the farm, learning every day and taking bigger challenges each day. Carlos is aware that in life, you sometimes lose and sometimes win, but something that is clear in his mind, is that to win, you have to do things with dedication and commitment. He knows that produce specialty coffee requires of big efforts, but he always accomplishes his own goals and he believes is a matter of discipline and patience. Today, more than twenty years after returning from the city, Carlos Cotacio is proud to look back and see that everything that he has is the result of his hard work.
