Eiver Melo is a fourth generation coffee grower who has followed in the footsteps of his role model Uncle - Lucas Melo, whose coffee we have featured the past two years. Lucas handed part of his farm El Cairo over to Eiver who has taken up the mantle on this super high altitude farm at 2300 masl in Consaca, Nariño. He loves challenges and competes in the Cup of Excellence where he was rewarded with a 5th place finish in 2018 with his Uncle finishing in 6th.
 
Eiver has been growing traditional varieties such as Caturra, Colombia, Typica, and is now planning on growing other varieties in his farm such as Geisha. The Melo's rely solely on organic fertilizer and natural pest control, a process Lucas Melo has pioneered and is naturally aided by the lower insect activity at El Cairo's high altitude.
