Gatukuza is a coffee washing station located in Ngozi in northern Burundi, near the Rwanda border. Around 600 local farmers deliver cherry to Gatukuza in addition to thousands more who deliver to a network of cherry collection sites in the region. The station is renknowned for its quality control which was exemplified by winning the 2019 Cup of Excellence. This lot has been processed in the classic washed style expertly by the team at the mill. 
 
Around 1500 farmers sell their coffee cherries to Gatukuza and on on average, every one of these farmers owns about 300 coffee trees. In way to increase the production and with the help of Burundi coffee authorities and Gatukuza Coffee Washing Station leaders ,the farmers are improving their plantations by planting new coffee plants.
