Halo Beriti is a coffee processing mill located in the heart of Yirgacheffe near the town which its named for.

 

The Halo Beriti washing and drying station collects cherries from 520 neighboring smallholders. The average grower plots are no larger than a hectare, and they sit at heights ranging between 2000 and 2200 masl. On these plots or production gardens, farmers have polycultural diversity growing avocado, enset, soya beans, and sugar cane right beside their coffee trees.

 

This lot was processed using the washed method. Here, the coffee is picked ripe and depulped the same day. There is usually a fermentation period of 8–12 h
