Our latest release from Kenya comes to us from the Karindundu factory, which is located in the region of Mt. Kenya in Kenya's Nyeri district. There are a total of 513 active members contributing to annual production, each with an average of 300 trees on half an acre. The members mainly grow the famed varietals SL28 & SL34 (99%) with a small amount of Ruiru 11 (1%) also being planted.

In addition to managing Karindundu and its other factories, the Barichu Farmers Co-operative Society (F.C.S)  provides credit facilities to its members so that they are able to pay for school fees, farm inputs and medical fees. Furthermore, the cooperative has undertaken actions to increase yields and improve their member’s livelihoods. In partnership with Coffee Management Services (CMS), their field service agent, the long term goal is to increase coffee production through farmer training, ready access to inputs, Good Agricultural Practice seminars, and providing the most current printed materials on sustainable farming.
