Kapsakisio Factory is operated by Kapsakisio Farmers Cooperative Society in the Bungoma area that lies in the foothills of Mt. Elgon. This F.C.S. has between 800–1,000 active members. Coffee cherry is delivered, depulped, fermented overnight, washed, and soaked before being dried on raised tables.


Mt Elgon runs straight through the middle of the border between Western Kenya & Uganda and is just starting to be known for its  great quality potential. In the speciality coffee market, coffees from Nyeri, Kirinyaga & Embu are famed for their intense acidity where as the cup profile from this region is distinctly different - more delciate and subtle acidity with great balance.
