Wilan Francisco Cordero has a very small 1 hectare farm with only 3000 trees. He is both Organic and Fair Trade certified. He grows only coffee but also has a dense natural forest.


Wilan is part of local co-operative APECAP, which since 2008 has been helping to sponsor the “Bracamoros Coffee” festival which brings together producers in the region and features a cupping competition and auction of the best lots from the harvest.


Wilan and other producers in this area have been planting an innovative new varietal  since 2020 - a Hybrid F1 (first generation) recently released in 2019. They are the result of a hybridization of current Arabica varietals in a lab to produce trees much better suited to current and emerging diseases, pests and changing climate. This lot is one of the first harvests from this new varietal and has been processed in the classic washed method.
